2025. What a year!

What a Year Our First Year Was!

What an incredible journey 2025 has been for The HUB's first year! We welcomed major new equipment to our makerspace - a Wazer waterjet cutter, professional welders, and a complete glass fusing studio. Thanks to the Porter County Community Fund, we were awarded a grant for our beautiful Janus Ovation dual heat kiln! We explored beyond our walls too, taking field trips to Kokomo Opalescent Glass and Delphi Glass to deepen our craft knowledge. Our programming flourished with amazing instructors: Tricia Vigland of Beautified Treasures taught us resin magic with spin wine glasses, holiday charcuterie boards, and Christmas tree plaques; Brianna led beginner-friendly welding in our Rescued Metal Art workshops; Susan Young guided paint and sip sessions; Nelson Velazquez from IMproductions brought improv joy; and Kristi shared her cookie decorating expertise. Laura W taught us how to cut glass and make stepping stones. We hosted summer Family Game Nights, Code & Connect meetups for tech enthusiasts, AI exploration sessions, elegant tea parties, and celebrated life's special moments with bridal showers, receptions, and holiday parties. Seedlings Theatre Company captivated audiences with Ghost Story and The Cliffnotes of Insanity interactive Princess Bride experience. We made hot chocolate bombs, crafted mocktails, 3D printed Hubert, created DIY beaded pens, and brought art to the community at events like Barks & Bluegrass.

Thank you to our incredible instructors, partners, members, and everyone who joined us in making The HUB a thriving community space where art and technology truly intersect. Here's to an even more creative Year Two!
